Where will you find curator, journalist, art critic and owner of the Bugaboo Bee³, Caroline Corbetta (@MissCorbetta) hanging out during her lunch break or at dinner time? We asked her for a list of favourite hangouts in the fashion capital, Milan.

  • Osteria Don: Via Varese 17, 20121 Milan – This place is always busy at lunchtime filled with all different kinds of people sitting side by side at the communal tables. The decor is simple and so is the food; honest, home cooked, mostly fish.

  •  Shion Camperio: via Manfredo Camperio 7, 20123 Milan – this Japanese restaurant is a far cry from the many sushi bars in town. Raw fish doesn’t dominate the menu, instead you’ll find regional Japanese dishes such as broths, tempura and

  • Latteria di Cameri: Via San Marco 24, 20121 Milan – for a typical Milanese experience you have to visit this place. Open since 1914, food in this former dairy is still cooked in solid silver pots by alchemist/chef Arturo. Expect typical Milanese cuisine.

  • Taiwan: via Adda 10, 20124 Milan – if you ever find yourself craving dumplings, bubble tea or ramen noodles then no-nonsense restaurant Taiwan, close to the Central Station, will be your go-to.

  • Mythos: Via Maurizio Quadrio 23, Milan – There is no better place to get a quick, delicious takeaway Greek meal in Milan than at Mythos. All dishes are without preservatives and you can tell!
  • 13 giugno: Piazza Carlo Mirabello 1, 20121 Milan – Located in Milan’s design district Brera, this restaurant is chic in every way. From the elaborate menu to the interior, you will be sure to find a slice of Sicily in every bite.

  • Giacomo all’Arengario: Via Guglielmo Marconi 1, 20123 Milan – Bistrot-style Italian food, an Art Deco interior and view of the Duomo. It’s definitely a special occasion kind of place but boy is it worth it.

  • Ceresio 7: Via Ceresio 2, Milan – Ok so a rooftop swimming pool is not the first thing that springs to mind when visiting
Milan, but book a cabana during the day and mosy over to the restaurant (in the same building as Dsquared) for some beautiful food during the evening.

  • Trattoria il Carpaccio: Via Lazzaro Palazzi 19, 20124 Milan – To art insiders, Il Carpaccio is affectionately known as Il Crepaccio (“the crevasse”), a reference to the restaurant’s 16-inch-deep window, which I, took over as an exhibition space in May 2012.
  • Bab: Via San Marco 34, 120121 Milan– Healthy Korean meals can be found at Bab which functions mainly as a takeaway. Perfect for lunch on the go.
