As we strive towards net-zero emissions by 2035, we know there’s still a long way to go. To reach our goals, we’re collaborating with a wide network, from our teams to consumers, retailers to suppliers, and competitors to investors. Our first major leap is reducing the emissions from our strollers by 47%, which we plan to achieve by 2026.

We have three principles when designing our products. Firstly, we focus on quality. We test our strollers beyond industry standards and enable repair and refurbishment with our modular design. By making our products last, we reduce their environmental footprint and ensure more than one family can enjoy them. Secondly, we choose low-impact materials. We prioritize low-carbon and recycled materials and avoid harmful substances, while never compromising on quality. Thirdly, we close material loops and prevent waste. We enable the recycling of each component, prioritize mono-materials, and design for easy disassembly.

Being an ethical company means it’s key to be transparent about the impact we have on people and the planet. To understand our impact, we did a materiality assessment in 2021 and will reassess this in 2024. We’re preparing for upcoming legislation under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Taxonomy. As part of the Green Claims Directive, we’re also reviewing our communication for greenwashing. There’s a long journey ahead to keep us strolling more sustainably.

Absolutely. We believe in making a positive impact beyond our business. As part of our commitment to doing what’s right, we get involved with charitable initiatives through our Product Donation Program. Each year, we collaborate with community-serving organizations to give back and provide extra support for those who need it.

We're prioritizing materials with lower CO2 footprint, recycled materials, and mono-materials. Our strollers use ISCC-certified bio-based material instead of fossil-based plastics. This bio-based material provides the same quality for our products, but is made from upcycled plant waste and results in a big CO2 footprint reduction. Our Bugaboo Giraffe chair is crafted with natural beechwood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, meaning that the wood is traceable and comes from responsibly managed forests. We're also gradually moving to recycled materials, such as recycled aluminum in the Bugaboo Butterfly and recycled fabrics in our strollers and accessories. And we're always on the hunt for even better alternatives.

Since 2022, Bugaboo has been a Certified B Corp™. It means we meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Certified B Corporations are globally recognized as leaders in the movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. In 2023, we were EcoVadis Silver-certified. EcoVadis is a globally recognized assessment platform that rates businesses’ sustainability based on four key categories: environmental impact, labor and human rights standards, ethics, and procurement practices. We are also a member of the United Nations Global Compact and a signatory of the Modern Slavery Act since 2021, and committed to responsible business practices in human rights, labor, the environment, and corruption.

The well-being of our employees is a top priority, and we’re committed to safe and fair conditions across our entire supply chain. That's why Bugaboo has been SA8000 certified since 2010. It means we're committed to developing, maintaining, and applying socially acceptable practices in the workplace such as fair wages, labor rights, working conditions, health and safety, and gender equality.

We involve our customers in our sustainability efforts by offering information on product care to extend lifespan, providing options for recycling used products, and promoting eco-friendly practices. Through our Certified Refurbished program, parents can return used or defective strollers and we make sure they keep on strolling. We refurbished more than 97% of stroller chassis sent back by consumers so we could resell them. We offer our strollers for lease, encouraging more families to use one product while ensuring the longest possible product lifespan through proper care and repair. We also want to make it easier for customers to exercise their right to repair inside and outside of warranty, by rolling out more Bugaboo Service Centers across Europe.
