Applicant Privacy Statement

When this privacy statement mentions “Bugaboo” “we” “us” or “our” it refers to Bugaboo International B.V. based in The Netherlands as well as its group companies. As a part of our recruitment process, Bugaboo collects and processes personal data of applicants. This statement is to inform you about what personal data we collect and process when you apply to one of Bugaboo’s job openings, the purposes for which we use your data, how we collect your data, and your rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

To whom does this privacy statement apply?

This privacy statement applies to anyone applying for a job with us and those where we offer an employment contract to or that we work with as a freelancer.

What data do we collect?

For the recruitment process some required personal data may vary, depending on the job opening you apply for.

We process your contact details (e.g. your name, your address, your email address and telephone number), the information in your CV (e.g. details of your qualifications, skills, experience, employment history, photo, gender, date of birth), your application letter,  results of tests and assessments that you have performed at our request, results from pre-employment screening, network traffic data and related data collected by cookies used on our websites; see our cookie statement for details and other relevant documents that you have sent us. These personal data originate from you.

We may collect special categories of personal data about you, such as race or ethnic origin, health (including disability) or data regarding religion.

When we offer you an employment contract or when we want to enter into a contract of assignment with you, we will process additional data which is necessary to perform the contract with you or necessary to comply with our legal obligations, such as e.g. financial information, a copy of your passport (e.g. place of birth, nationality), personal data obtained from the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce, VAT number, data needed to determine whether you are allowed by the authorities to work in a particular country.

For what purposes do we use your personal data?

We process this personal data for selecting and recruiting new staff members. We will not use your data for other purposes.

On what legal basis do we process your data?

We process your data to pursue our legitimate interests, to comply with our legal obligations and based on your consent.

Who will we share your data with?

We may have to share your data with processors, and we can engage the services of parties that qualify as processors within the meaning of the GDPR. We conclude a processing agreement with these processors in compliance with the GDPR requirements. In addition, we may sometimes have to share your personal data with third parties for the purpose of conducting (e-)assessments.

In addition, we may share and transfer your data with our affiliated companies located outside the territory of the European Economic Area (EEA) when you apply for a job with a duty station (partly) outside the EEA. We have taken appropriate measures to ensure the security of such a transfer.

How long will we retain your data?

Should we reject your application, we retain your personal data for up to one month after completion of the application process. After that period, we anonymise your data, and only those details that cannot be traced back to you will be retained in our systems for reporting purposes.

What are your rights?

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data: the right to access the personal data we have about you, the right to have your personal data corrected, the right to have your personal data deleted, the right to restrict processing of your personal data, the right to object to automated decisions, the right to withdraw your consent, the right to object to certain data processing activities and the right to data portability.
