FAQ - strollers general

  • How do I best protect my child against the sun while riding in a Bugaboo stroller?

The breezy sun canopy provides extra protection and ventilation during warm weather days.  Its silver fabric offers UPF 50+ sun protection while the fine mesh allows for cool breezes.  For additional coverage, add the Bugaboo parasol and your own preferred methods of managing your child’s exposure to sun.

  • Can I remove the wrist strap from the handlebar of my Bugaboo stroller?

The wrist strap is there for the safety of your child. In some countries you are legally required to use it, and Bugaboo recommends you wear it at all times. Please note the wrist strap is not available as a spare part and once removed, cannot be replaced.

  • When should I switch from using the carrycot to the seat?

The carrycot is suitable for a child who cannot sit up unaided, roll over and cannot push her/himself up on her/his  hands and knees. The maximum weight of the child in the carrycot is 9kg (20 lbs). In practice, this will be when the child is roughly 6 months old.

  • Can I use the carrycot in my car?

Bugaboo is aware that in some countries, it is common to use a carrycot in the car. The Bugaboo carrycot is not designed for that purpose.  For that reason and to ensure the utmost safety of your child,  Bugaboo advises using an approved car seat instead.

  • I want to take my Bugaboo stroller on a plane. Is it easy to travel with?

Most airlines will allow you to push your child in his or her Bugaboo stroller to the gate. There, you can fold it into its most compact and easy-to-handle size. The airline staff will place the stroller in the general luggage compartment of the plane and will deliver it to you as you exit the plane at the end of your flight. Please contact your airline for specific information. If you need to know the folded size of the stroller, please visit the compare page.

Bugaboo recommends using a transport bag for extra protection and checking in the stroller as odd size luggage. This minimizes the chance of damage to your Bugaboo stroller. Check www.bugaboo.com/explore/accessories for the transport bag for the Bugaboo Buffalo.

Your warranty is not valid for damage sustained during air travel, with or without the transport bag.

  • Can I place the rain cover and the sun canopy on both the bassinet and the seat?

Yes, the rain cover and the sun canopy fit both the bassinet and the seat of your stroller

  • Can I recline the bassinet, similar to the seat?

Bugaboo does not recommend it. Your child will likely slide down or experience an uncomfortable ride if the bassinet is in a slanted position. If you use this position, Bugaboo cannot be held liable for any incidents.

Clean the chassis with a soft towel and lukewarm water and wipe off any remaining water with a dry cloth. Use a soft brush to clean sand from the mechanisms and sliding tubes of the frame. You can use a lubricate (like WD40) on the brake system to prevent your Bugaboo stroller from squeaking and to facilitate a smoother ride. To clean the foam on the handlebar, please use a sponge, warm water and liquid soap and gently rub the area that needs to be cleaned. Wipe clean any soap residue left on the metal part of the handlebar.

  • Is it possible that my stroller leaves marks on my floor?

It is possible that on floors such as synthetic laminates, parquet, linoleum and carpet (organic surface floors), rubber black tires may leave permanent marks. Should you have a floor as mentioned above we recommend to be careful with indoor usage.
